Circles

A project of Public Baths and Pools

Bar and Stage reimagined the open, flat, and green space to the north of the R. C. Harris Water Treatment Plant in Toronto. Circles introduces new geometry to the waterfront at the south-east corner of the facility. Deviating from the rigid, art deco hierarchy of the neighboring buildings, Circles provides a series of clustering circular pools and baths to create a location for public, communal activity. Circles completes the cycle of water in urban life: it is pumped from Lake Ontario, treated in the facility's buildings, and distributed for public consumption.
